While eating dinner this Tuesday Tess blurted out , "When you are in a fire you have to meet at the tree" This was the first inkling that perhaps there was some fire safety training going on at school... She then preceded to recite her "stop, drop and roll" routine, at least letting us know that she was paying attention!
The firemen then came on Thursday, to let the kids see them dressed up and 'not be scared', as well as get to help spray the fire-hose. The video is of the fireman in his oxygen mask crawling towards the kids- Miss Claudine is actually pushing Tess towards him to "touch the fireman" as she screams in horror.
I was thinking how nice it is that my 3 year old now has one of her first times of loss of innocence... up till now fire was really an unknown - now at all times she gets to be aware of this horrifying thought that her house could catch fire and that strange man with a mask will come get her!!!!
