We did some late summer planting - I hated not having a garden this year - with the move and all it was impossible. But... after our move, I thought even Aug. isn't too late! I planted peas and lettuce and prayed our frost would be delayed so we could enjoy. Sure enough this week the peas have started to be ready to harvest off. I think I love these veggies most in a garden for the kids sake. They can pick them right off the plant and are so healthy. The problem now is that they realize they are in the garden, and have a hard time being patient to wait the few days for them to ripen/grow to full size.
